Newbie from Hong Kong

Hi everyone, I just joined and want to drop in and say hi.

Hope no one minds I'm from HK since this is a 'SG' Rolex owners club.
There aren't any english based sites for HK (that I'm aware of) and although I read chinese, I like the content from the english sites more....

Are you connected to rolexforums.com? The look and feel of this site is very similar so just wondering if there is any affiliation.

I'm now the proud owner of a new white dial SS Daytona. Just purchased on Jan 3 from an aftermarket watch dealer in HK. The watch was originally purchased from a local AD w/ the warranty card effective date filled out Jan 1, 2009

I've wanted this watch for so many years but never thought it was worth the speculation asking price.....until now. I think I got a pretty good deal.

The SSD is only the second Rolex I've ever owned (previous Milgauss GV but sold early 2008....phew!) and is now the 'star' of my humble collection which consists of 2 Panerais (048 and 233) and a black dial Cartier Roadster Chrono (I know what your thinking... but to me, it's a mean looking watch).

I LOVE my SSD!!

It's funny, I've never taken a single picture of my watches until my SS Daytona (which I posted on rolexforums last week).
My wife caught me taking the pics and asked me why I've never behaved like this before over a new watch....
Perhaps it's because it's the watch I've desired since I can remember.
I don't even normally wear a watch on weekdays but find myself wearing my Daytona as I am typing this reply from the office.

Maybe this is where the obsession starts....

I'll post the pics I've got asap and will try to take some w/ HK views in the background when I have time.

The 'co-star' of my collection (233) is living in Canada so will have to wait until summertime. Don't know who would be interested in seeing a Cartier roadster and PAM048 but I'll take some of those and post them too!

welcome mate! we're thrilled to have you here...it'll be good for us too especially when we need some price references from HK...besides, some of us travels so it's always good to have new friends in other parts of the globe.

watch collecting is a very personal thing and i'm sure your cartier holds a place in your heart as much as seikos or PP that some members here own...

no lah, list price is only 12k++, i think the current price from AD is about $14k to $15k

the price mentioned is from AD and it's the price above list for a new piece here.
