Hi Hi, i'm new here, been thinking of getting a rolex watch. But i wasn't aware that there is a version with see-thru caseback. May i know what model is this? or is it a custom fit to a stock rolex?
think this was asked before but i couldn't find an answer for it.
To modify a submariner to a see-thru case, can i just buy one and replace the original back case? Is there somewhere recommended that does this mod? If someone can advise the costs of doing do that would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
I did.
My watch in question is a 16520, Zenith Daytona. Some of you will know that, rightly or wrongly, some see this model as highly collectible because of its movement *blah blah blah* and it commands a certain price. Since I have to pay for this feature, I better get to see it in action... and so a few hrs of internet research, emails left right center to Germany, a trip to Top Hour and this is the result -
For those curious -
1. display case back or original hard case back, I do not and will not wear it for swimming, snorkelling, diving etc.
2. the seepage of moisture may be an issue, but it's a chance that I am willing to take as I think it's really remote.
