They all looks almost the same to me. Nonetheless, I find submersible range much appealing to me.

Thus, if I ever buy one, that will be the model that I will buy.
Haha! Do not take my assessment as 'word', Afterall these r just my personal views on Pams.

I agree with your preference for the submersibles. If I were to buy another Pam, it'll probably be the 87.

However, I have always wondered, if the "pig submarine" is an iconic symbol that Panerai uses for all the purported Ltd Edts / Special Edts across the luminor and radiomir cases, why has it never been on a submersible (or is there?). Afterall, isn't a submarine equivalent to that of a deep sea machine that wld naturally corelate back to a submersible?

Then again, they just might and slap on a $5000 premium and coin it Special Edt. LOL

      Fashion, big and over priced.

I do like Base and Manufacturia models like PAM 111 & PAM 351.

If i remember, there are 2 models of PAMs that are simply a rotation of the dial 180deg around (such that one model has the date at 3 oclock, power reserve at 5oclock, and subsecond dial at 9 oclock. The other model has the date at 9 oclock, power reserve at 11 oclock, and subsecond dial at 3 oclock) - Try to picture that in your head.

Its so laughable. I wonder what the price difference was.

Any bros care to find out more about where the PAM brand is heading (IMO), please refer to the thread under the panerai dicussion section, page 5, PAM 321. Posted some pertinent comments there for the unwary.

I have a 111 and 305. And it will likely stop here.

I'm a Rolex owner but also interested in Panerai Sub 285 and the sub destro model but panerai is very expensive and sales a bit kuailan,so maybe i'm considering buying pre-owned pam 285.

I like the clean simple looks of Pam but they are over-priced watches especially those with the 6497 movement. Given a choice, I would pick up a Rolex over a Panerai anytime!

                Hi all,

I recently got my 1st Rolex(had to be a sub), although i was eyeing Panerais some years back, I certainly do not regret one bit that I ended up getting a Rolex(finally).

Panerai as a brand is certainly more popular with the younger generation, but at the end of the day, if u want gd quality watch, that could potentially hold good value(not 1st priority), and the tradition & history together just makes Rolex a logical choice. But then again, that's just me. No offence to anyone out there.

I started with a Pam 177 first then came to Rolex. Pam design more trendy n rugged, but the glass is very fragile. Drop from 2ft to the floor and it cracked. Cost 700 to replace & mandatory service. Got fed up n sold it off.

Those with house panerai movement I find overpriced so I rather buy Rolex.
                        I'm in bad company........

                          This is really true.

when i sold my 104 and changed to 312. my cousin question me and said " you got changed your watch meh ?"

my fren make a comment after looking at their catalogue. " the designer of this brand is really well paid, add a date, it become a new model, remove a number, it is another design" which best describe by lefty.

anyway I have a PAM and a couple rolex.

As a daily beater, PAM is a great choice as changing the strap change the look. In general, with it trendy and simple design, it goes well with anything you wear. But in term of quality, it is no where near to Rolex and AP.

Having one or 2 is nice but they have just too many releases with very minor tweaks / differences and they relaunch it as "regulars", "ltd edt", "special edt", "boutique edt" etc with insane prices.

366, remove the "fu" and it becomes the 367 HK Edt which ends up looking like a 111 but with a 0 movement?

0, PVD it, add some vintage markers and it becomes the 360 Ltd Edt

0 again, remove the logo, slap on a clear back and you get the 112 with some decorated movement

112, housed in a titanium case and u get the 176

183, add a logo and you get the 380

217 (grail), change the fonts from Marina Militare to Luminor Panerai and you get the 368 (albeit with 8 days movement)

249 (grail), movement changed and it becomes 448 "special edt"

233, add 2 more days to the power reserve and it becomes a 270

The above are just purely my thoughts and feelings about this brand and not meant to offend.

But oh well, whatever increases their profit margin and mass appeal.

Panerai is all about its unique design...and not its movements. I would personally get a base model for PAM...and that's about it..would not go for its complication, not even the GMT.
