  • buying <10 years old pre own 26mm datejust

what is a fair value for a <10 years old pre own 26mm datejust
what else must i take note when buying pre own rolex beside physical condition and verification in RSC
does verification in RSC include checking its "working condition"

first time buying pre own watch

    thanks

I think you may want to be more specific in your enquiries. Firstly "<10 years old" can mean 1 day to about 3,650 days old. So naturally, the price for such a pre-owned watch will vary widely. Secondly, it will also depend on the watch model, i.e. if there's precious metal/stones used. Is it a half-gold/steel model? Does it come with diamonds? Is it on a jubilee/oyster/president bracelet?

As for the ROLEX Service Centre (RSC) technician checking a pre-owned watch "working condition", I believe they do because in some cases, the counter staff would advise customers to send in their watches for servicing due to certain diagnosis.

if you are interested, i might be able give your her contact, at her consent

      cheers

      Hi,

Spoke to my mum about it today, here is what she was able to tell me...

There are no box/receipt/cert; but this watch was previously certified by Rolex to be authentic. She has a receipt for that, and it was dated Nov 2003.

She also shared that during that time, Rolex advised that the watch face wasn't the original one that the watch was initially manufactured with. From what I could gather, they had explained to her that her watch face design wasn't available for the year that her watch is dated; and that it was from a different year.

(The impression I had was it's authentic, but not as originally sold by Rolex).

I have taken a couple of photos, you can view them here:
      http://slowmail.com/hwz/fs-rolex

To me, the most noticeable ding would be in picture 06 (also visible in 13)

If you're still interested, or have more questions, please SMS her directly at xxxxxxx. Her name is Ann.

Otherwise, please let me know - and I'll put up a FS ad on the forums for it.
