They are like Sony service center where I wanted to get my PS3 repaired. They also charge a chargeable fee if the repair is to be declined, otherwise, it will be part of the charges. Nowadays, such service center or RSC is making the whole world more commercialized. Everything about money. What's wrong without sending for services if the charges are exorbitant?

Personally, I think this' absurd! It's like you drive your car to a car service workshop to get it checked for required servicing and repair, and you get charged for it!!

Bro, this is a result of many people pretend to send in their watch to "check for the need to service/repair" with no real intention of going ahead, as a FOC way of authentication.

Which is why sometimes lobang/tatics like this is best not to share or spread openly

For servicing, I don't think they would charge you if you do not need them to check your watch but simply ask about the charges.

It's like most sellers from the forum do not like people to view their watch without the intention of buying and/or before agreeing on the price. Time is money. More so in the commercial world.

                  I think it makes sense
Everytime rolex center provide service quote they need to ensure watch is genuine
                  Its like authentication
Some people may make use of this as free authentication service

Personally, I just feel that even if some people "take advantage" of them, they should feel happy bcos they can "tell" from the request that more and more people buying Rolex watches when they go to them... :-D

If I just ask them how much will they charge for overhauling say, a submariner, are they not going to tell me unless I pay $107??

I totally 100% agree with you. Some people share such ideas so openly...there can only be one outcome. Kiang ju hoe...mai kay kiang.
