      different people do it differently

      1) hold the watch by its lug horizontally and give it a soft counter clockwise turn.
      2) wind it
      3) shake it vigourously
      4) shake it gently
      5) winder

For automatic watches that has screw-in crown, usually I spin it. If possible, I reduce the frequency of screw and unscrew to preserve the screw thread. For non screw-in crown, wind it first and then wear it.

Funny. Dun u guys adjust te time before winding/shaking it? Or at least set te time before u head out?? I'd do so by adjusting te time n date first n winding it before I leave te hse. Most often, I'd hv done tis te night before since I oredi knw which watch I'm gonna wear te next day.

in fact i was also informed by the other aunty at the swatch group service centre when i was there to collect my omega. She also said the same thing to me...wind it,and wear it.Let it "jump start" by itself.
