With more ladies wearing men watch now, rolex sports can be couple watch as well

IMO, the couple watches have to be Lady's DJ with Men DJ or DD. You may wish to arrange with AD to arrange same designs and same dial or even same indices and bezels. For DJ or DD, there are many different styles of combination. So without arrangement, sometimes it may be hard to get it on the spot.

For sports model, for sure no couple watches. The only I can think of is "Explorer". You may consider Explorer II for yourself while your wife chooses "Explorer". For myself, I got myself "Submariner" while my wife chose Lady's DJ. It's not couple watches but we pretend they are! It's your choice anyway.

If your wife dun mind bigger watch, you can get explorer 1 at 36mm & 39mm for her and yourself.

she is petite so the standard ladies size should fit better, else it will be the 31 or 34 iirc.

if you are not looking @ non-sports models, then i guess it will have to be DJ or DD.

personally i feel that for men's DJ, the indices markers are more subtle while for ladies DJ, the roman markers are more suitable for ladies.

with DJ/DD there are many different combinations. so i would suggest you decide what material you want first from SS/TT/WG/YG.

then decide whether you want oyster bracelet of jubilee bracelet.

then decide on the dial. normal dial or MOP dial or meteorite dial or .....

i am leaning towards the slate dial. everose looks elegant for men/ladies too!

I do feel nowadays ladies like bigger watch. I have been thinking of getting the Basel 2011 launched of the Lady's 31mm DJ, in particular those with "maxi-VI" with diamonds index, for my wife. I feel her 26mm watch is kind of small and hard to read, though I strongly agree it's very elegant as it's suitable for petite ladies.

In that case, you may want to consider these (you need to do a google for their reference numbers though):

Male: oyster bracelet, stainless steel, black dial with stick hour hands

Female: jubilee bracelet, stainless steel, white dial with Roman numerals

IMHO for dress rolex get the DJ models. If budget permits, DD models looks & feels even better!
