Europe ADs very seldom gives discounts nor do they charge premiums...but as foreigners, we can clain VAT (similar to GST).. VAT % depends on the countries.
Singapore ADs offers generous discounts except for certain models. It is this dicounts that makes the difference

      Local or Overseas AD

      Hi,
Sorry for the noob question once again. Usually on the sales forum, when a buyer wanted to buy from the seller, the first question is always overseas or local Ad? Any specific reason behind on this issue? Usually, local will prefer their local AD but is there anything wrong purchasing a watch from a local seller but the watch comes from the overseas AD. Is it the guarantee concern or any other hitch that I'm not seeing.
Thanks once again for the information on the above
      Regards,
      Bemyself

For me it should not matter if it's BNIB and has a valid warranty paper.

Sometimes, people have the "worrying heart of a theft" when they can buy a watch cheaper. They feel more "peace of mind" when getting a Local set. They are also worried that those aunties at RSC will not honour their Rolex with overseas AD cards but in fact ,as seiko has mentioned, they will honour as long as AD stamp and dated.

                So they are the same.....

                    Overseas AD

see a couple of threads in the sell forum whereby they have bought the watches from overseas AD and able to sell them in BNIB..

how cheap exactly are these overseas ADs selling? if the price difference between overseas ADs and Singapore ADs, i would be flying over there to buy 1st hand and have a leisure tour at the same time liao..

anyone bought watches from overseas ADs and encounter bad experience before?

I believe Singapore RSC will service watches from overseas ADs as long as it is genuine...is that true?

                    thanks

depends on which country u buying the watch from. not all overseas AD will have a cheaper price compared to sg. also some of the private dealers in this forum has lobang with overseas AD and hence the better price due to exchange rate and tax rebate.

You can service your watch at RSC as long as it is still under warranty. Doesn't matter it is from Overseas or local AD.....

                          ok few more questions..

                          1) how do i know a watch is really BNIB? how to prove?

                          2) warranty servicing at RSC will require the original receipt right? and RSC will honour the warranty even if it is purchased from overseas AD? would there be admin charges due to the fact that it is not purchased locally?

u have to trust the buyer and check the watch....... e.g no scratches, the clear film stickers should be intact and so on etc....

                                how does RSC keep track?

Also, what is the usual warranty period? 1 yr?

                                thanks
