Been to T2 and T3, ask whether they are local AD.. And they just said they are Rolex AD and did not answer my question directly.. And the popular sub c, GMT 2 and deep sea models have sold out.. They told me that they gave 2% discount + 7% tax free (ie no GST if u can show your air ticket).. So total is 9% discount. It is good deal but they do not have stock
I thought since the reply to you is "they are Rolex AD", that is the answer you were seeking? Why did you feel they had not answer your question directly??
If you are referring to the said three models, the discount is not bad, taking into consideration that most ADs do not give such rate of discount easily. But well, no watch no talk.
I only want to know whether they are local AD.. By saying that they are rolex AD, it seem to me they are hiding something or the salesperson is not sure too. But all watch shops selling Rolex in changi airport are not listed anywhere in Rolex website.. So they have not answer my question whether they are local AD.. Then if I bought Rolex watch in changi airport and want to sell, do I tell the buyer it is local or oversea AD? I do not understand why people selling in rolex forum is so concerned about whether it is local or overseas AD.. That is why I said they do not answer my question ie whether they are local AD....
if you bought a rolex from changi airport, then when you want to sell. you tell the buyer it is bought from changi airport. this is provided you have a warranty card bearing the shop name and stamp to show proof.
i believe the company dealing with sale of watches in changi airport is gassan.
some buyers would like to know if a watch is bought from originally is from a local AD or overseas AD can be due to
1) feel more confident in purchasing the watch knowing that it comes from one of the authorized dealer in singapore aka chances of a fake rolex is not high. (other necessary precaution measures still need to be exercise)
2) knowing that if they need to get the watch service @ RSC but unable to visit them during their operation hours, they can use the warranty card and bring it to the local AD for assistance.

if "seller A" sells the watch to"buyer B", buyer B will not be concerned how much tax rebate "seller A" get. "Buyer B" only concern whether it is local or overseas AD..
If shop in airport (be in Singapore Changi Airport, Bangkok Airport, etc) is neither local or overseas AD, then they are "Air Port" AD..
Warranty is INTERNATIONAL for 2 years - no issues with whether it is overseas/local.
2nd point from TRITON - is a good point, local AD you are able to use their service when needed.
Otherwise no diff...Don't let it bother u so much when you buy your rolex. Cheers.

I just don't get it. I see so many people wanting to sell their watches at prices which we can get cheaper from Spore Changi Airport. The prices at the airport is already cheaper, that makes you the first owner. Save money on authenticating and gives you piece of mind.
Secondly buying it there gives you vouchers of at least S$500. So assuming a GMT2c which is selling at about S$9800 there, after the S$500 voucher, you are basically buying it at S$9300? Even though the voucher is for next purchase, it is still money back to your own pockets.
Now am i wrong to buy from airport or it is ridiculous to buy from resellers who bought from overseas AD?
Well T1 Gassan has the following in stock ( on display ).
GMT 2 S/S
GMT 2 Two tone
Milgaus S/S white and black
Daytona two tone S/S / Gold
Daytona Gold 2 diff choice.
Daytona 2 tone S/S / Gold
Yachtmasters 2-3? sizes, many options
Yachtmaster 2 white gold
Many..... of those date just things, many dial options ( Rolex version of the swatch to me ) hehehe......
They said they do 3% Discount, plus the tax saving..... ( so this is about 7-8% off ( allow for tax fees ) ).
On the 15 FEB they had these stocks...... but I got a better deal on sport model at THG.... so airport is not the greatest place on Earth.

I think the resellers need to price reasonably.
