                it began in 2004 on some models (F/D-serial)... but most models had it by (late) Z-serial...

                as it was progressively introduced, there is no hard and fast rule.

                eg, some D-serial 18k GMT IIcs also have the engraved rehaut... some M-serial sub date LV have no engraved rehaut...

                      according to TRF experts and the best of my memory, it was F/D... they had a competition and discussion in the past that had members posting pictures of their engrave rehaut - the earlier the better...

                        lasered etched coronet on sapphire glass was first introduced in 2001 and i think fully in place by 2003...

                        some service replacement glass also have the coronet, but with an "S" in the crown.

                          I read it somewhere but cant really remember now. By 2002 most of the crystal have the rolex etched.

                              I went home yesterday taken a look with a loop, as i replace once before, the S is horozontal attached to the crown at 6 o'clock.
