Hi,I shot my watch with a digital cam and enhance and zoom in......and viola.....my Laser Etched Coronet!

so i presume it has

My thought, it doesn't matter he has or don't, this thread is a good education process to share, learn and re-learn, so we can be more competent in knowledge of Rolex, and that is the main purpose of this forum.

Good point! I must say our resident gurus here tend to be a very patient lot! I can't say so for some other forums I have been to! More often than not, the first thing they will say is, "try searching before posting you n00b!"...

i think it is the atmosphere of the forum,if the atmosphere is hostile (which i find some forums but no naming) then no matter what you ask, no one will help you.

I have a question here...

If I have an "A" series GMT 16700, send to RSC to change its crystal glass. Will get the LEC on the new crystal?

when the sapphire crystal is replaced during servicing, the new crystal will sport the LEC. However, the LEC will appear differently with a letter "S" included within it as that implied that the crystal was changed during servicing so that it will be consistent with the series of the watch that may not comes with the LEC in the first place.

16600 does not have laser coronet...correct me if I am wrong.

Just to support the above infomation, My W series GMT II was serviced one month ago by SRC, the newly replaced crystal is same as old one that does not have the LEC.

We can try the next time when sending our watch for service. However, is not a must to have.

My thought is, having it on the replaced crystal may creat some problem of identity, the expert of Rolex may thought that your watch is a fake, of which that series of watch originally came without any LEC, and now a day, even the fakes are spotted with LEC so as to confuse people.

My opine is to preserve any Rolex watch as original as possible rather than drawing "a snake with 4 legs"
