according to the same shop the card serial number will be 2011...that's the reason why the price he quoted is base on year 2008 price (before Rolex revised the list price) i dont't know if the explaination is logic or not..it looks like if the price at SGD10k++ not worth it to get it here...

isn't it the warantee date once written (which it has been written) on the card as mar 2008 mean it has started since 2008? my understanding is manufactured before 2008 but was stucked on display..for the 2011 it seem to me it was manufactured year before 2011 but the warantee start from 2011..it seems to me the starting alphabet play a very important part..as you just said M series selling at 30% make sense...
I will get the detail of the card serial no from him and revert...

confirm it is Zxxx899..does it mean it has been manufactured between 2006 ~ 2007 (Z series)? but i wonder why the card written as mach 2008..does it mean someone has own it at 2008? that explain why 30% price different as comparing current price?

there's a chance it's pre owned then. hence the price.

What I know of middle east business practice.

They give gifts to their clients and Rolex is one popular item. Many of the Rolex are not worn but resold to dealers.

Dated and all else new intact. I will treat it as buying a NOS (New old stock)

Price ok, watch ok, then no issue.

if your watch is a Z series, its produced in 2006/2007, the warranty card should be undated and unnamed
this is termed a NOS (new old stock)

if your watch is Z series and you have a dated and named warranty card (dated 2008 as you mentioned), you are not buying a new piece , you are not even buying a NOS
you are actually buying a preown piece
and likely you are not even dealing with a rolex AD
because rolex AD are not allowed to deal preown piece

You are correct the shop is not Rlex AD

frankly, imho, a 30% discount for Z series full set with cert dated 2008 is not fantastic for this model (YM boysize).
i'd say 35% discount if all stickers intact would be a fairer deal
The 35% that you mentioned is refering to current latest price of 2011 (which seems doesn't have alphanumeric -random generated?)

if a AD has stamped a warranty card 2010 without name when it is 2011 currently, will you consider it as NOS or otherwise?

i have went to a authorized dealer in australia where they placed pre own pieces in rolex cabinet which is only supposed to contain brand new pieces. so tell me about AD is not supposed to sell pre own pieces.

since you already mentioned that AD not supposed to sell pre own pieces, why i need to check with rolex?

if this is the case, that means those gray dealers selling rolex with warranty card stamped means is pre own piece right?
