I don't think it is poor man's rolex but a smart buy rather. Tudor chronos are indeed beautiful!

The vintage ones (Big Blocks) are going up in prices. Gone are the days (just 2 years ago) when they cost US$3000 plus. The pricing now is US$4000 onwards. There was focus on vintage Tudor Snowflake Subs and it very hard to find good quality ones nowadays. Collectors are now buying up the 80s/90s Tudor chronos. Not poor man's but value for money. Good size with date function. What's more, they come in Panda dials!

My friend in HK told me that Tudor Chronos are hot there. There is a big fan base.
Thanks. Sure. HK Bagel is a great collector of Tudor chronos. I am active with them.
Not many in SG appreciates the Tudor Tiger Chrono or big block model. One of my friend told me to swat my collection for a white dial daytona....I told him that it will be boring as you are restricted to white or black dial....but panda dial or black dial is a great beauty due to influence by the Daytona 6263 black and panda dial. U have any Tudor Chrono collection to share?

This is nice. If only there is a monte carlo out there for a good price. But the question here is would you buy a Zenith 16520 A or P or R series or a Tudor Monte Carlo? Hard to decide. Thanks for sharing.

          Tudor for life!!

IMO, I may go for the vintage Monte Carlo as the design is so distinctive and retro 70s! That is why they cost so much.

So in a way, I am not a Rolex purist. Design is more imp to me . My collection order is reverse. I started with Rolex but the vintage Tudors are appealing more and more to me.

Price for big block very high now, so my advice is that you buy only if you are a collector. If you just like the look, go for 79280/79280P.

                Just my personal opinion.

Can anyone tell me if this is a 79280?
                  Why the jubilee bracelet?
How much is this on the market for the exact same watch?

That is a 79260 (bezel with black insert). Current market price of that exact variant should be around 3.2k to 3.5k for a complete set.

The ealier two with SS bezel are 79280. If there is a P behind the model (such as 79280P), it means the case is polished. Without P means brushed case (the two sides of the case is still polished I think).

All the above mentioned may come on oyster or jubilee bracelet. Oyster bracelet version is more difficult to come by as they are the older batch (and I am not referring to big block). I have come across very recent one that was on a oyster bracelet, but it was a preowned set so it is possible that the bracelet was swapped by the previous owner.
