Why would you choose eather strap over metal strap?

Hi all,

I know how some watches go better with leather strap, but for Singapore humid weather, it doesn't seem practical to own a piece especially when it comes with a hefty price tag. And moreover, it is not as lasting as a metal strap isn't it?

For those who had chosen leather strap, any reason why you have made the choice?

I think the choice of watch strap, leather or metal or even rubber, are mostly affected by aesthetic rather than practicality. It also depends on the nature of one's occupation and how/when you will wear that watch. Moreover there are many types of watch straps readily available in the market for people to 'dress up' their watches at low cost.

As for me, I choose leather for certain watch models for the looks and to match my attire.

if the watch is a dress watch, i prefer it with leather.

if the watch is non-dress watch, i prefer it with bracelet.

I prefer metal over leather...

Leather is hard to maintain, steel and gold is easy...can turn on the tap and wash with soap anytime.
