Thanks mate... I presume the price you stated was referring to the new Explorer II? By any chances you have any idea of the rest of the range?

Actually looking for deep-sea and the ladies range (TT with meteorite)

    Thanks for any input..

In any major city in Germany- Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Dusseldorff you can walk into a Bucherer or Wempe shop and it should be available there and then for picking up. If its not in the shop ,it will be held in their safes and if you're willing to commit on the spot it will transported to the branch.Right now i would say its the best time to travel through Europe as the Euro is very weak and virtually everything is extremely affordable compared to pre Global Financial Crisis.

You're welcome. Actually its the 40 mm explorer 2 , can't really remember the exact price but its around that mark. The new 42 one will be aparently be a little more than that though - possibly a 2-300 more. I do know the price in Australia and its A$8900 over here but can be obtained for a decent discount and GST refund of 10% .

I did look at the DSSD and also a few other models and noted the price in Germany and in Euros . Here they are - For the DSSD it was 8300 ; Submariner C in black 6250 ;green6600; GMT 2 C ( which i did settle for on my recent trip ) 6170. Of the 3 mentioned only the DSSD can be discounted and are open to negotiation( usually 5-600 Eu off for walk in customers) but the others are very popular SS models and AD's like Bucherer / Wempe will not move off that price.

Did a quick browse through on the ladies whilst over there and they mainly start around the 5K onwards but there are so many combinations available so it will depend on that as well.

Cetainly agree that holidaying in EU now is so much affordable esp w Emirates affordable tickets and relatively low car rental rates in Germany. But luxury watches are not any cheaper than here probably they have moved in accordance to the currency exchange rates.

Darren the prices include their VAT which will be refunded once you leave the EU so its around its like a 14 % discount for the SS GMT, submariners if bought in Germany.

this is the net VAT calculator :

This is ridiculous pricing! Think getting from Sg Roc garage section cheaper.

Explorer 2 entry level sport watch? Not really lah. List price wise the 40mm Explorer 2 (16570) was priced slightly higher than the discontinued GMT 2 (16710) when both were still available at the same time, higher than Sub no date (14060M), and of course also higher than the Explorer 1.

As in previous examples, all rolex sport models that went through an upgrade have their price increased significantly.

Few pieces have appeared here for sale at a premium (compared to RRP). However, the concern can be seen in the difference in prices even within this short time window. There is one for $12.8K, one for $11.8K and one for $11.5K.
When it hits the RRP price, it might be attracive to pick up. Ha
