Often, vintage prices up or down is more dependent on the collecting mood. New remakes are new remakes. They are not replacement. If I am a vintage lover and also fall in love with new explorer 2, I will buy the new exp2 but that doesn't mean I will sell the old too. Most will get both if they can afford and those who can't, will hang on to their old.

my sentences should be read independently. i apologise for the paragraphing error and not elaborating further.

the former sentence maybe due to buyers who likes to own the vintage due to the white dial and orange hand combination, however they may not be able to afford and hence turn to its alternative the new model. hence if this group is relatively larger than the vintage lovers, the demand for the vintage may thus fall hence lower price. similarly when there is demand for it, the price will increase.

a true vintage lover as mentioned in my previous post will not buy due to its aesthetics but heritage. hence they will buy the vintage rather than the 're-issue'

There are also those who like the vintage exp 2 look and are sitting on the fence. There is always a concern on the movement when it comes to vintage piece. With the reissue this group will more likely buy the new exp 2. Hence demand for vintage exp 2 may just drop. Of course there will always be the true vintage collectors.... My take is vintage exp 2 price will drop some what.... Just my personal view.

hands look so huge and so do the numbers on the bezel..but have to see it in the flesh/metal before deciding..the orange hand and orange text does definitely POP!

I really love the watch, but it may be too big for my small wrist. Let's see what kind of price will it be published when it comes to Singapore. :drooling already

Darren, The UK currenly is a good place to buy pricewise, due to a fairly weak pound, but here's the problem . New models, series especially sport models are not readily available or are kind of reserved for their regular customers. In Germany however the latest series models are always stocked by prestigious AD's like Wempe and Bucherer. You can walk into any of these dealerships which are located in all major cities and they will have stock. The prices are a little bit higher than that in the UK, but there is a fairly high VAT refund. Also I find that for a holiday Germany overall is a much nicer place to spend holiday time than the UK.
Its also significantly better value for most things- accomodation, food, drinks, local tours.Their tourism infrastructure is better developed overall.

No one can answer your question as the watch is not available here yet. From PI, some asking 12.8k. Immediate stock.

Darren its about 6 K Euro in Germany and the net refund is almost 14% .In the UK the prices will be around 1-200 Eu less but there tends to be problems for availability especially for walk in customers without prior deals.

In any major city in Germany- Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Dusseldorff you can walk into a Bucherer or Wempe shop and it should be available there and then for picking up. If its not in the shop ,it will be held in their safes and if you're willing to commit on the spot it will transported to the branch.Right now i would say its the best time to travel through Europe as the Euro is very weak and virtually everything is extremely affordable compared to pre Global Financial Crisis.
