I won't, as I don't like the look of a sub with ceramic bezel. The 116610 is a considerable upgrade to 16610 in many other areas incl movement, dial, grade of SS, SEL bracelet with a new clasp etc, and for the same reason I think it is very different from the classic sub's look & feel.

      I would keep the 16610 and get a GMT2c.

I will keep my 16610 for 2 simple reasons:
        i) it is my first Rollie
ii) was advised by the AD (in HKG) to keep it

        Cheers

No! I will never trade my Sub for a Sub C.

One reason being the Sub is the truly diver's watch. Whereas the Sub C is more a dress Sub as diver's have complained the ceramic bezel being too easily rotatable, causing mayhem will diving.

Very sound advices but does it make sense to keep the 16610 and get the 116610? To me, they do not look EXTREMELY different from a distance, even at close range.

When I started out with ROLEX watches, I often find a certain degree of aesthetic similarities among the three sports models - 16610, 16660 & 116710. So when I was contemplating to acquire one among the three, I chose the 16610. There was no point getting two or even all of them since they look about the same to me.

So this time, should it be the same with the 116610? That is, should I (or not) have both since they look closely similar?

Alamak, brudder! I know. I was just asking if it was not to let go the older one for the new one, then is it sound to keep the old and buy the new one.

In any case I think 16610 is an iconic piece that you should try and keep.

Saw your the other thread...a 16610 + a new white explorer 2 would be a great pair to own and wear in rotation, as these two do not overlap in look and function. So continue to save your fund I suggest

I like the new explorer 2 a lot, but since I already have the GMT2c I have been questioning myself if I should spend in another GMT rollie...

At least these two (Explorer II & GMT II) look different, isn't it? As compared to the submariners

Definitely nope for me. I still prefer the old sub than the new one for the touch and feel.......

                          Er... Nope.

But I rather have the true utility watch as compared to a dresser one, given the choice.
