  • Rubber B watch strap for Rolex Review

    Hi All,

There has been some discussions on the recent release of Rubber B straps for Rolex. I ordered one and just posted a review and installation guide here.

Below is an excerpt. I would post the entire review here, but there are too many images and is somewhat detailed.

    -Sheldon

    -------------

In June 2011, I came across Rubber B watch straps on buddy Jake's Rolex Watch Magazine These straps are specifically designed as a Rolex strap replacement that utilizes the existing Rolex clasp. Like many of the other replacement straps, the cheezy buckle did not match both the watch and Rolex's quality level.

Seeing that these straps address the shortcomings of other Rolex replacement straps, I ordered one from Rubber B in preparation for a rafting trip that I am taking to the Grand Canyon. In my last rafting trip to the Grand Canyon, the band on the Rolex GMT that I was wearing did show some slight pitting from the gritty Colorado River water. For this trip, I wanted a band that was strong enough for the 7 day drip. In looking a the website at www.rubberb.com, I went ahead and ordered a strap. I spoke with Benjamin, who explained (in English or French, your preference) that these straps are made in Switzerland and are specifically designed for Rolex. Although the strap might be considered pricey for a "rubber" strap, Benjamin explained that the design work, testing, and quality are unmatched by any other manufacturer.

More of the review is here.....

I was looking for a rubber strap for my rolex for a few years....somehow only recently spotted this B rubber and the ad really piqued my interest. After about a week to consider, I finally took the plunge and bought one of the most expensive non famous branded rubber strap. FYI this strap cost more than omega oem planet ocean, seiko top of the line emperor tuna rubber strap and isofrane!

The result??? Though painful to the pocket, I have to admit that the quality really surpass all the rubber straps I have used so far.....mind you , I was terrified that the price I paid may not equal quality. Upon buying, the shop installed it immediately and I wore it to sleep for close to 9 hours (too many late night recently bec. of gaming lol). Surprise the strap did'nt irritate my skin and the second surprise....you really don't feel it there...I am using it on my gmt ceramic, I may consider getting another it for my deepsea.....

So for those considering buying but balk at the pricing.....this is my input and not forgetting the perfect fit to the rolex lugs. If rolex were to sell this the price will most like be doubled. At last..... I found the perfect fit rubber strap for my rolex after such a long ardous search. My recommendation is go for the strap and use the original clasp...looks stunning and give it the oem look with class! Unless you intend to rub often against your desk then go for the strap with the ss strap.

Until now I still cannot understand why there's so few alternative rubber straps for rolexes.....just look at panerais!!! There's money to be made!!! Rolexes are more popular and I am sure the sales volume over the decades would have surpass panerais.....

To be frank...the pricing is a pain....but its a rolex afterall, I still remember for my mont blanc rubber dive strap, the price is similar!!!

To my knowledge Submariners in the past have the option to be fitted with a Tropic rubber strap directly from Rolex.

This is nice, come with the Rolex Clasp.
