Format of Rolex Serial Number

Does rolex use standard format in their serial number for all models?

for eg, serial no of my M series Ex II is M123456 (M followed by 6 digits), and inscribed at 6 o'clock position of the Chapter ring.

do i expect to see the same format say for M series Sub w Date, i.e. maybe M112233 (also M followed by 6 digits) at the 6 o'clock position of the Chapter ring?

Serial number is like IC number la...SXXXXXXX

In this case...MXXXXXX,will never repeat. M000001,M000002 liddat lor..

Errr... darkangel, dun think tatz his qns. He seems to b asking some formatting on sr nos. I think yes, if it's like an ID no. of sort for ROLEX watches, then format shld b te same for all models.

No la...all follow 6 digit if I am not wrong. If it's like 500 of 100000,it will be M000500.

That's what I believe. Doesn't mean that SUb willl have 6 digits and exp will hav 5 digits.

No special format to distinguish...only Rolex themselves know which number is which model.

Yes nowadays all serial is 6 digits
There is no format for the serial no..except the last digit is refers to the material.
0 – full SS
1- SS and Pink Gold
2- SS and Platinum
3- SS and Yellow Gold
4- SS and White Gold Bezel
5- Pink Gold
6- Platinum
7- ?? (forgot)
8- Yellow Gold,and Tridor model
9- White Gold

I hope I am correct.. can anyone verify
