  • replacing 3035 with 3135

    Hi,

Is it possible to replace a 3035 movement with a 3135 movement in a 16013 model watch? how much would it cost if it is possible?

  • #2
i believe you can do it. problem is, you may have to change the hands, as im not sure if the hands are interchangeable.

why not consider selling the 1601-3 and move up to the 16200 series?

Erm...can add more details about why you wanna to change from 3035 to 3135?

3035 in my sub has been ticking strongly for the past 28 years...no issue at all...and 3035 is quite similar to 3135....same beat rate...quickset date.....

Can 3035 be hand wind? Pardon for this question.
The time in life is perpertually moving forward while that in the watch is going in circles.

In case it is broken and would prefer to replace with 3135instead of 3035. I am eyeing a 8 mil series watch with 3035 movment. My concern that it is a known fact for 3035 movment that a very hard perpendicular knoc to the balancing bridge will cause a full replacement of the movment. That may be the reason wht rolex repalce this movment only after a decade.

I am quite 'rough' with my watches ;-0

i suppose u can....however there are plently of 3035s out there...and 'rough' on watch part....and only the winding bridge and pallet stone have to be replaced..not the entire movement....

Here is a prime example of what is termed as a 'hard' life of mine -

Man you are really rough with your rollies. You got a nice crack on the bezel at the "30 " mark. If you hold your sub longer, your sub might even able to make it to the roughest Rolex history Museum.
