  • Magnifying Glass

    Hi,

    Some newbie questions here.

where to buy those magnifying glass (stuck on one eye) commonly use by the watchmaker/technician? is there a proper name for it and the rough cost?

btw, does this thing really magnify a lot, much more than those big magnifying glass (those with a handle type)?

thinking of getting one to examine the details of the rollies more

    Thanks.

got some info on loupe from web. other than magnification, the other factor to consider is nos of lens used, as this affect the picture quality (now i understand why my old magnifying lens (those big round type) can't compare even though its 12x). the recommended is to go for triplet (3 lens) 10x (taken from web), i personnally have not tried.
