Simple answer just clean it with any soft cotton type cloth, or give it a good wash first in plain soap and water. The whole watch case and bracelet the just dry with any cotton lint free cloth. And yes you can actually get any Rolex oyster wet, wash once a week especially the bracelet will keep them in tip top shape for decades to come.

Simple answer no your crystal has not got a problem,IMHO its yourself that have a problem.By either working in dusty conditions which I doubt, or perhaps you have the over anxious Rolex watch owners syndrome.

I think its the cloth you polish it with too.
Perhaps you are generating tons of static..

do this only if your watch is water resistant:

use a tiny bit of toothpaste and rub it all over the sapphire crystal top for a few seconds.

rinse off with a shower head. turn off shower head. inspect to make sure no oil residue left.

if you still see some oil residue (especially near the edges), repeat process.

when satisfied, dry off with towel, put on wrist and enjoy!
