  • Newbie here with crown problem.....

    Hi guys,

I just received a Sub 14060M (no date) as a gift recently and got about trying to wind it up and setting the time.

Before i got about doing it, i surfed the net looking for instructions as the gift came without any proper instruction manual. Fortunately i did managed to wind it up and set the time proper.

However, now my "problem" lies with getting the crown to flush. After setting the time and winding it clockwise for 20 rotations and then pushing it back, i noticed that i could still see the one line of screw thread and not totally flushed. Is this how it should be? Also, when i pressed the crown, there is some spring space between it and the case. I pressed it a couple of times, and it bounced back to its time-setting position! Meaning now, i could see 2 screw threads instead of one!

Now im paranoid of winding it up again just to lock it. Is there anyone who can suggest whats the proper way of setting the crown back into its original position??

Thank you in advance. Newbie here

Just screw the crown down just finger tight it must not be flush to the case there is a o/ring gasket in the crown head that seals the watch from water all Rolex sub have triplock crowns. And to fully wind a Rolex watch you need 40 full crown turns clockwise only even if worn regularly I would still recommend a full manual wind once a week..
