Dear Bros,
These are my personal thoughts.
I only became interested interested in watches in 2008. As a newbie ( I am still a newbie in many ways), I had scoured the web for various info. ranging from generic sites on watches to specifics such as Paneristi.com, Rolexforum.com and Timezone. I chanced upon this site only in the last year or so.
To me, this site presents a local flavour to watch collecting. The lingos used (such as Swee! Sibeh Expensive, Rolex Lau Jiao, Lim Kopi etc.) can't be found elswhere and make me feel like home. I also appreciate the bros here for making various comments, assistance, suggestions to make collecting more fun and also poisonous!
Looking forward, I anticipate more discussions (technical, aesthetics, trends etc.) on watches regardless of brand and price. The saddest thing is when a forum becomes a merely a cyber-place to "show-off" and is elitist in nature. What I like about this forum is that we respect each other's horology passion. In this regard, I do like the various watches even though I may not possess them. I still look at Swatch watches etc now for their beautiful designs.
Moving on, I do hope to meet some of you in one of the gatherings in 2011. Through this platform, I do hope to interact and learn from you on your brand of interest.
Wishing you all a great 2011 ahead and to keep "Tick Toking"!
