Enquries about what series means for rolex watch?

hi,
I am very new to rolex.
I notice that alot of ppl use the word "P" , "U" "M" Series.
So does that mean the higher the alphabet. The latest the series?
So if example "S" Series mean this watch is manufactured on which year?
"M" series is manufactured on what eye?
Deeply appreciate if the brother here can advise means. How many series are there and how is the year like.?
Example
Series M is year 2008. etc.

All it means in reality is that a watch case was stamped sometime between X&Y years and not necessarily when a completed watch was shipped to AD for sale.Now with movements like the cal 3135 Rolex tests around 500000 plus of those each year at the Swiss COSC, and can assure you they are not all made in the same week, month, or even year .Now that movement when matched to a case could be older or newer made or visa versa,so what this boils down too.Today many think the latest case stamp is perceived newer afraid today with Rolex watches thats not always the case its all just a approximation.

Hi... sorry if this question have been answered elsewhere. But I was wondering is there a website I can go to key in the serial number of the rolex watch and get information? Or at least verify that the number coincides with the correct model? Thanks.
