It will look very funny for other Sports Models without it.
As for SD or DeepSea not having it is something got to do with water pressure in deep water.
Exp 2 don't go so deep ma... Although not many of us will want to sell their collection, but resale may be a problem, I will not consider a Rolex without a cyclops, is mind set...

(1) dont ever get into you eye, it will denature proteins like egg tuning white on a frying pan. you will be blind
(2) im not so sure about soaking the entire watch in acetone, wont it strip the paint markings also on the bezel??? dont think anyone will have an experiment here
(3) wont the acetone strip the anti-reflective coating on the sapphire too??
please dont put your whole watch in acetone .... remove the crystal, cover the watch with a dust cover, and operate on the crystal MINUS the watch.

I would... in my humble, naive and reserved opinion, I find the cyclop "clouds' the faces.. I am more into clean looks. Then again I am a newbie..to Rolexes..
Then I will only allow the cyclops to remove by professionals..
TO each his own. You will learn to appreciate the cyclops soon..
