Well, I was same age as the thread-starter last year... Guess nothing wrong with gold watch if you can afford it. Maybe is the modern phase : 40+ is the new 30+. But hey, if that is the case, then 30+ is the NKOTB. If you forget what that is, it is new kid on the block.

I actually do admire rolex watch for their new engraving of the word rolex and the serial no. on the inner rim of the watch case but would not wear it personally. To me, rolex seem to be associated with guys in the 40+ and above. And gold rolex is for loaded "Ah Pek". All this mindset maybe due to the environment(HDB flats in yishun) that I was brought in. Even though I am in the thirty now, still cannot find myself wearing rolex. In fact, I find my senior more suitable and bought him an Air King recently.

very nice pictures thanks for sharing!

after wearing all gold or Two Tone rollies, I feel "poor" when I wear stainless steel watches, that is the reason why I never wear my subs.
This is gold rollie poison warning!

my favourite gold rolex photo this week is still this:-

When i was 27 yrs of age, I bought my first Datejust Half gold for $1300.00, fashionable those days,
I bought a Redsub list was $979.00 less 28% discount (Max 30% to dealers) around $700.00 brand new.

Have been using ever since. I treat it as a rough used watch, wore day and nite, shower
never remove. Swimming, diving, washing car etc..Golfing until one day it stop sent to RSC
Lady told me rotor snapped. Than realised I used it for golf at the range being beginner
we "chungol" meaning hitting the ground hard viberation shocked the watch movement.

Today I treasure this Redsub and didn't realised the value of this watch until Lady told
me uncle your hor worth alot of money leh!!!

My wife has got a Lady Gold Rolex Queen watch purchase 1994, unpolished, with box and cert, how it's worth today? $.............?
