  • How tough are Rolex watches?

Just chanced upon a thread in another forum in which a GMT Matser II was put through a series of crazy tests to prove its robustness and tougness. Apparently, the owner of the watch put it through extreme conditions just to prove that it would not be affected by the subsequent changes in temperatures. I think the TS proved his point that Rolex watches are indeed tough as nail but I'm surprised he went to such extremes. So here is the link to that thread:

everything has their weak spot, even the hardest of crystal will shatter if hit at a precise angle and force.

I am quite impress by the courage of the tester, but also wondering how can the rubber o-rings withstand the boiling heat without causing leakage?

Darkie, when is the day which you going to try it? Please video it man, I to know the result.

just a suggestion, service your watch at SRC before you do it, as it will have one year warranty after the service.

Sorry bro, I'm sure Rolex will not honor warranty for such abuse! Of course I'm sure you are joking about this... Right??

I think the Rolex craftsman got problem open up the watch... all rubber and plastic parts melted inside
I wonder how the air inside escape from the watch? If air go out water will go in...
