The Rolex warranty will run for 2 years, from the date indicated on it. It is transferrable, as the warranty follows the watch.

    Hope this helps!

This has prob been asked before but i can't find the answer despite searching and reading through several threads. If a shop says the watch they are selling is brand new but is covered by their shop warranty, does it mean the Rolex warranty is void? Meaning RSC will not honor the warranty although i have the rolex warranty papers etc?
Considering to buy this GMT 2c from a shop but this is holding me back. Any helpful comments pls?
Can u specify what you mean?

Brand new watch covered by shop warranty? If it is really brand new, then the shop don't even need to use the word 'shop warranty'.

Check the date on the paper. If it is within 2 year, then RSC will cover.

If the warranty date is more than 2 years, means that the shop is willing to provide you with any repair if the watch has any problems.

ThanksAll , shop finally replied they are nit AD so only can offer shop warranty. Says rolex warranty not valid although brandnew. Is it possible to buy, send in for svc and get a 1yr svc warranty?

IF watch is brand new, you should be given an international warranty card valid for 2 years.

Shop warranty? looks like those watches are either not real or are not brand new.

there is no such thing as rolex warranty not valid although brand new.

if the watch is brand new, RSC will not take in for servicing. only 1 year service warranty means only parts changed, will be under warranty. the rest not warranty if the warranty of 2 years have expired.

Even if it is non AD selling it, there is still Rolex warranty if it is authentic and all parts internally are original. If anything was changed outside RSC, then I wun recommend u buying... Why buy a brand new watch without having the full privilege?

simply put: shop warranty equals NO warranty...unless it's from an AD of course. To me, 2nd shops dealing in rollies are like illusions: one day it's there, gone the other. why take the risk?

Maybe the it is New Old Stock? Meaning an old watch that is way beyond warranty period but never worn so classified as brand new?

Or maybe really new but card lost?

                        Question by a noob...

I have bought a used lady datejust for my wife. the model is 69173.
i understand that it comes with a 'series' alphabert at the casing, but i can only see 69173.

My question is how do i know how old is this watch.

I understand that the diamond bezel is not original from the previous owner, if i were to bring the watch for verfication, do RSC tell me which particular part is not original?

                        please help...

I suppose your watch does not come with certificate? Or, the certificate will show the 'alphabet'. And from the 'alphabet', you should be able to determine the age of the watch. Google "oysterworld".

Yes, the RSC technician should be able to tell you if the part(s) is original or not. Btw, "69173" looks more like the model no. and not serial no.

The 69173 is the model number and the ref 69173 started production in the 1970s give us the serial then can get a bit closer to the actually year.
