IMHO, the oldest/earliest daytona shld be from 1963 having serial number 9xxxxx & it will not be cheap since that will be a very highly sought after watch (if there's any ard)!

is it possible to bring just the watch head to RSC to get a bracelet for it? Watch is a DJ 2 tone

Yes of course, but be prepared that the bracelet cost as much as getting a preowned DJ 2 tone

Noob question on pricing of Rolex

I understand that Rolex prices are very stable and tend to appreciate with each price revision. Sales globally also do not differ very greatly from countries to countries.

Why is it that some shops (physical shops overseas) and ADs here can sell a brand new in box watch for 25-30% off list price, while local shops here hardly give more than 10% discount, assuming it is not a fake?

25-30% for non sports model. Sports model usually 5-10% only.

Phew... I thought I kerna ripped off by an AD when I read somewhere in this forum someone got 25% off, while I only got ~15% (10+5% extra VIP discount) for YM! I guess that's because YM is sports model...
