Make a police report and inform RSC of the serial number of the lost watch.

uh oh.... this is painful. its the sentimental value thats most painful. the white stripes on the hands, i believe is the lume (glow in the dark). of which, yes, all DJ (to my knowledge) will have.

as for ways of finding it back, i guess, you will have to post a reward. dangle a carrot big enough, and hope a good soul will return it. all the best!

If you want to solve half of your problems, I suggest you quickly buy a pre-owned exact same model & look of your lost one, at least your mommy will not find out that it's lost!

not the same bro; sentimental value can never be transferred. but yes, it will prevent mom from finding out that its lost.

I do agree with you bro that sentimental value can't be transferred, but knowing the chances of finding the watch back is pretty remote, by salvaging the disappointment of the mommy is the next best thing, in my humble opinion of course.

Let's say if the watch is eventually found, she can always let go of the pre-owned at lesser loss. (especially buying from those with buy-back schemes).

Just thinking, a police report would prove to be fruitless. But what if you submitted the serial# to all the preowned dealers in sg.

All preowned dealers (licensed) inclusive pawn shops need to keep a record of the transaction of watches-related. One of the information recorded will be the serial number.

I think no harm filing for police report.

There is one stop solution via SMS to check handphone IMEI number but unfortunately not for watches serial number.

is it possible that its like a database of all stolen property? much like how pawnshops need to submit details of their purchases of preowned property as part of their second hand license.

I doubt there is such a database. One problem might be if everything lost is in that database, it will be too many items included, who so free to enter into the database?!
