  • Increase in RSC Service Charge

Has anyone been to RSC lately to service his watch?

About a year ago I serviced my wife's watch and the cost was $400 plus ...$460 if I remember correctly for the overhaul.

The service charge has almost doubled, I was quoted $790 to service my GMT II. A counter staff told me the increase has been in force since Feb 2010.,

I heard a customer being told that that his watch casing is pitted and that he may have to replace his case - slightly more than $1,000 if the watch fails pressure testing. This could be a tactic to inflate the quotation and then
eventually withdraw giving the impression that the service charge quotation was not so high after all.

I am just wondering what's the experience of others

Yes, they revised the servicing charges in late February.

Base price for servicing sports models is indeed $790 now.

The only upside is that the after service warranty is now 2 years, instead of 1.

    Cheers!

Imagine if you have 2 sports Rolexes, after 5 servicing for both, could have bought another Submariner!

This proves that Rolex in general lasts very long without constant servicing!

I agreed. Normally, i would only start considering sending for servicing after 7yrs. And i wont bring it to RSC....

Is the 7 years if the watch is always worn daily ?

What is say the watch is worn 1 week per 2 months ? Do need still to service @ 7 years ?

Some advise me dun bother, just chalk in the drawer if not working and buy another one.
