Yeah how come ppl would know he is a doctor and somemore working there. Must be someone who knows him or thru a friend. Thats really strange and I tink its relli rude to approach someone like this.
But we weren't there to judge the situation therefore it would be better for us not to comment too much
Just a question. Don't you guys think that discussing this thread would let even more people know that taxico bro is working in paragon? In order to prevent more incidents like this, maybe the workplace should be removed in this thread.

jokes aside, i think knowing taxico works at paragon isnt really the issue here. How would you know which doctor is him? you cant be taping every doctor on the shoulder hoping to hit the jackpot right (is there only 1 doctor at paragon clinic? paisei, cant afford to go there see dr)? You need to at least know how he looks.
I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch.........
1) person who approached you knows you as dr taxi from watch forum could be someone whom you met and/or introduced but you can't recall @ the moment in time or till now.
2) person who approached you knows who you are might be your friend's friend. your friend pointed out to the person that who you are but you are not aware.
I think the right thing to do, if you like a stranger's watch/jewellery, is just to smile and say, "nice ring/watch/whatever you have there", and then leave it at that.
It is very rude to stare, go closer to look, etc.. Tapping the person's shoulder and asking for a closer look is taking it to the next level of rudeness.
My sympathies to Taxico, who had to put up with this guy in a lift.

as all of us are not @ the scene. it is not fair of us to comment.
3) he googled using the key words "vintage rolex","taxico","doctor"
Hey don underestimate the power of google k
I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch.........
Ahh....the perils of being a super lao jiao forum member and having a nice watch...oh well, look on the bright side.....I wouldn't mind being rudely interuppted if it means me owning a nice vintage rollie....
i've been using this nick for a rather long time, and i used to be active on many older (overseas) watch forums during my schooling days, but not anymore...
google no longer works on me as the main watch forum i used to be active in has migrated platform and is on a different website/software (no archive) now.
indeed, i do not tell watch collectors what my day job is - i don't even like what i do. i very recently started flying free (jobless) and am changing my line of work for something more satisfying.
i don't make much money either! (not at that stage yet). i don't own a clinic at paragon clinic - i happened to be there for something else, but in the capacity as a physician.
i don't know who the person was, but i think this thread is long enough for whomever it was. suffice to say, he was not young and i honestly have no clue who he is.
as i'm not a flashy person - i am very very low-key in real life (those who have bought watches from me will know) - you would probably mistake me for your hawker store helper... !
to the brother who asked about maxillofacial surgery - i don't work with such surgeons (dental or otherwise), but would be happy to ask around if you really want an opinion - just drop me a PM.
yes, i had a name tag on my stethoscope but it is not the rectangular type you see in "SCRUBS" - it's just a patient's wrist tag. it is very difficult to make out my name on it as it's old and crumpled and bent.
thinking back, i *might* have seen him before, but it's not a recent encounter. or it could be just my mind playing tricks on me... as he did not bother identifying himself, i think my behavior was within reason.
whatever the case is, watch collecting is a great bond-making activity, but asking a stranger for his ($10, $100, $1,000, $10,000, $100,000) watch is not nice.
i would respond better if the person had actually asked me to tell him more about my watch... i would probably invite him to coffee (as it has happened more than once before) for a chat and allowed him to handle with it - WHILE SITTING DOWN ON A LOW CHAIR IN A PLACE WITH CARPETED FLOORS!
anyway, it's all water under the bridge for me. as this is sg-roc, not sg-kaopeh, here's a little something to bring everything back on track...!
THIS MATTER IS CLOSED!
