wow, i didn't expect any reply to my post!

i had been silent as i've been busy with life.

i've been using this nick for a rather long time, and i used to be active on many older (overseas) watch forums during my schooling days, but not anymore...

google no longer works on me as the main watch forum i used to be active in has migrated platform and is on a different website/software (no archive) now.

indeed, i do not tell watch collectors what my day job is - i don't even like what i do. i very recently started flying free (jobless) and am changing my line of work for something more satisfying.

i don't make much money either! (not at that stage yet). i don't own a clinic at paragon clinic - i happened to be there for something else, but in the capacity as a physician.

i don't know who the person was, but i think this thread is long enough for whomever it was. suffice to say, he was not young and i honestly have no clue who he is.

as i'm not a flashy person - i am very very low-key in real life (those who have bought watches from me will know) - you would probably mistake me for your hawker store helper... !

to the brother who asked about maxillofacial surgery - i don't work with such surgeons (dental or otherwise), but would be happy to ask around if you really want an opinion - just drop me a PM.

yes, i had a name tag on my stethoscope but it is not the rectangular type you see in "SCRUBS" - it's just a patient's wrist tag. it is very difficult to make out my name on it as it's old and crumpled and bent.

thinking back, i *might* have seen him before, but it's not a recent encounter. or it could be just my mind playing tricks on me... as he did not bother identifying himself, i think my behavior was within reason.

whatever the case is, watch collecting is a great bond-making activity, but asking a stranger for his ($10, $100, $1,000, $10,000, $100,000) watch is not nice.

i would respond better if the person had actually asked me to tell him more about my watch... i would probably invite him to coffee (as it has happened more than once before) for a chat and allowed him to handle with it - WHILE SITTING DOWN ON A LOW CHAIR IN A PLACE WITH CARPETED FLOORS!

anyway, it's all water under the bridge for me. as this is sg-roc, not sg-kaopeh, here's a little something to bring everything back on track...!
