updated info. heard one bro here called ROC and asked 2 years ago. Change bezel insert = SGD $620

I think the bezel is not cheap lah. I replaced one on my 14060m back in year 2004 and it cost me SGD$280.

        • Based on topic title, I think Rolex still have strong appeal. Now that I start to notice peoples' wrist, I realised Rolex hands down is the most common luxury brand. I see so many uncle wearing TT datejust and many young people/middle aged wearing black sub/explorer 2. Sometimes I also see teenagers wearing sub.

Oh man. I know it's a good watch la..but it's getting so common..

Probably have to choose a less common model to wear next time.

          • I think rolex is not that exp for entry models and there's alot of world wide recognition of the brand. It's also still a universally accepted brand which has value. One can walk into any pawnshop in the world and get a decent price on their rolex still (this is not the case for most brands. Some brands may have value in a certain region of the world but not other regions).

It's true it is getting more common as people recognise it as a symbol of luxury and achievement and not sooo hard to attain compared to say an entry model of AP or even PP.

            • Rolex in fact is more appealing than ever. All other luxury watch brand copy Rolex business strategy. Exclusive in house movement. Control the pricing and spare parts. Sell at exclusive watch boutique.

                • There will always be a segment of horology enthusiasts that values Rolex for what it stands for. Above and beyond the watch community it is also seen by many as a status symbol.

                    • Personally, I like that Rolex adopts a simplistic design and is also affordable for someone thinking of buying a luxury watch.

                          • Rolex timepieces are amazing! Rich in history, durable, simple and gorgeous and holds its value better than other luxury timepieces out there! Definitely a watch that can last you a lifetime even if it's daily beater. I don't think it will lose its appeal!

                              • Watch biz is a biz, ultimately cater to the wants of a increasing affluent global market. Now 3rd.world countries are getting more affluent and able to afford luxury, so demand is up hence watchmakers create more to statisfy this demand and make more moolah for their shareholders/owners. All these conceptions of limited edition, special release and rare items are created for a selected target audience who want to feel that they have something special and can flaunt it. IMO just buy what you really want and can connect with, that is the ultimate investment of your psyche.
