The latest case stamps are a random mixture of letters and numbers, both V series and the random series are still being produced in 2010.

I certainly hope so....other Rolex forums are cursing and swearing...cos everyone think V series would be the latest and would drive its value up, before the launch of the SubC Date.

Should G series be the latest, V series will no longer command a premium...

Similar has happened to M Series SeaDweller. Everyone thought M series was the last before the launch of DeepSea, then came V Series, which drive M series value down...

I actually newly acquired a SUB date Uxxxxxxx. Therefore, i guess the "G" and "U" are part of the latest alphanumeric series.

              cheers!

this topic had been discuss at other rolex forum too and i think their conclusion is also the same that it should be part of the alphanumeric series.cheers.

There is no new G or U series as I already stated in my previous post V is the last, the new serials are a random mixtures of letters and numbers .

IMHO there is too much enthuses put on whats only a approximation when a case might have been stamped.Take watches like the SD not changed since 1988/9 except non lug hole case and a case stamp. The sub date the changes since 1988 hardly worth a mention, the SEL bracelet the most beneficial. The others a LEC,non lug hole case, and few very minor font details and thats it except for the different case stamps.Rolex watches are far as I am aware are the only brand where the case stamp nonsense is more important to some, than the actual watch, myself buy a watch and not a case stamp.

The Alphanuermic numeric goes something like this

number - alphabet - number -number etc etc

My Subdate (not worn yet...too precious to wear) is starts with 2Mxxxxxx
Just cannot understand why anyone would buy a watch and not wear it just strap in on your wrist and wear it.And yes the new type serial are a random group of letters and numbers, the code only known at the moment by Rolex

Yes was at RSC yesterday and heard that there will no longer be any alphabet series. Henceforth only Rolex would know which year of production any watch with alphanumeric series would be.

Can I also assume that the year of production will be stated in the warranty card? Else how would owner knows which year of production the watch belongs to?

Is there a reason why Rolex decided to do away with alphabetical series? Anyone?

Perhaps we should not conclude that its part/not part of the alphanumeric series till we learn more about this new series or when more such series surfaced.

My sub date # U1234567 and i did sent for authentication at RSC. Therefore
1, it cant be a fake unless RSC failed to identify and they should refund my $75 and i'll lodge a police report on the dealer who sold me the watch.
2, it cant be a old 1998 U series as it has 7numbers after the alphabet.

Besides, i am not the only one having such weird number, there are ppl with "G" and "W" too. As such, I stand corrected that most likely it should be part of the alphanumeric series.

Nevertheless, whether "G", "U" and "W" part of alphanumeric series i really dunno and i dont care. I shall "enjoy" it since it had been authenticated by RSC and my G card stated April 2010, it should be good enough to give me a peaceful mind.

                              Cheers!
