I bought a watch from Passions at Funan Centre. Their svc is good. Friendly & professional. It was during Christmas last year and they even offer me a piece of cake. The cake was given by a customer... apparently he's happy with them too...

I guess retailers think that if one has a decent watch strapped to their wrist, they are more likely to buy since they have already splurged money previously.

Whether its a "blessing in disguise" or a "busting in disguise", only the press can determine how they want to angle the report. IMHO, a story like this does not seem to be any "blessing" to me. From a neutral point, if I read a report like this, I'd have been very glad to take this company away from my shopping list .

i was there last week.... wanted to get a set of tool for my watches... there's this guy who's quite nice when i asked him if they sell any tools.... he said yes...and i enquired if they sell the "SD-like toolkit"... he asked why and i said it's for use to adjust/add/remove links from my watches...

i then asked if he could help me to add a link to my yacht master... he's ok and went on to add the additional link for me....for free..... anyway i still proceeded with the purchase of the tool set for my own use....

then i went over to the payment counter and owner came out.... i said hello..and introduced myself as one of the mod for sg-roc.... and the way he responded as if i was begging for an audience and couldn't be bothered with my presence..... well maybe i was just buying a set of tool watch and not an 'expensive' watch...... was pretty pissed off...... anyway that's my experience with them......... sad..... very sad.....

JW? I have always found their service standards reasonable. Nothing to shout about but, so far, nothing to complain about too. Average I guess.

On that post, it may be because of previous experiences. IIRC, JW use to service alot of vintage watches e.g. omegas but they have since stopped because alot of these owners send in their vintages expecting them to be restored to 100% (as in with original OEM parts, or to remove 30yrs of ageing) or even to a better standard than modern versions e.g. waterproofing, which to them was not possible (if Omega stopped making the particular part 10 years ago, where are they to find an exact new orginal ?). Hence, rather than be accused of substandard job, they refuse to take them in. And they expect buyers of vintage watches to know what they are getting.

This dispute probably arose because some potential seller probably made some allegations of misrepresentation as to the rollie.

Same thing happened to me as well. Was in my weekend casual attire when I went into the shop. It was empty as it was quite early in the morning. At first no one bothered until one of them spotted my RO chrono... To say the least, the SE's attitude changed completely... Was also offered a good price for a ROO Complete Calendar but kinda regret now that I didn't get it.
Time is too precious to be measured by a cheap watch...

Hahaha...age,dressing and watch plays apart. Age is the most important I feel

It may be as what you've said but it is just unprofessional to make such posts publicly in a sale. They should may be post an announcement in a separate notice/page in their webpage on this. NOT IN THE SALE OF A WATCH! Just my opinion.

If a SE 'suddenly" become very attentive only AFTER he sees wats on my wrist, i'll not even look at him and walk out of the shop!
