That's the case if you are getting latest models, you can avoid getting pre-owned ones... On the other hand, if you are getting the discontinued model, pre-owned are the only choice you have.

Also, there are some popular models that are only available at those pre-owned shops. They are BNIB, ppl buy and sell them to these shops to speculate prices... usually, you can get a better deal compared with local ADs from those pre-owned shops...

I would say you probably miss the vintage watch collection or I should say you never consider about it.
Well...

For pre-owned, its a different story. Mabbie the previous owner is wearing it most of the day, especially with the humid weather of Singapore....go take a look at ur everyday watch...how dirty it can be if one do not take care of it well.
end of the day, its a personal choice. Its like owning a new car and pre-owned, each have their own pro and con but i think still mainly on the price and certain particular model concerns.Tag Heuer 2000 Professional Chronograph
Tag Heuer Formula 1
Rolex Datejust Oyster Perpetual 16234
Rolex Datejust Oyster Perpetual 116234
Rolex GMT II 16710

Originally posted by nottinghill View Posti was there last week.... wanted to get a set of tool for my watches... there's this guy who's quite nice when i asked him if they sell any tools.... he said yes...and i enquired if they sell the "SD-like toolkit"... he asked why and i said it's for use to adjust/add/remove links from my watches...
i then asked if he could help me to add a link to my yacht master... he's ok and went on to add the additional link for me....for free..... anyway i still proceeded with the purchase of the tool set for my own use....
then i went over to the payment counter and owner came out.... i said hello..and introduced myself as one of the mod for sg-roc.... and the way he responded as if i was begging for an audience and couldn't be bothered with my presence..... well maybe i was just buying a set of tool watch and not an 'expensive' watch...... was pretty pissed off...... anyway that's my experience with them......... sad..... very sad.....
Why does it have to be so annoying? Why can't they just state the consignment price? If people can carry the damn box and watch there, they should have at least the courtesy to name a serious price instead of playing all these games. Then you see the owner's annoyed face turn to another customer and SMILED like Ronald MacDonald and said, "Yes, Mr, Goh, please sign here...". He kisses up to the rich customers, or rather those that he thinks are rich, and talks down to those that he thinks will not buy many things from him.....but he has no idea who he was even talking to. Sigh.
Anyway, 'time will tell'.....hope that their business will reflect that of their attitude. Actually JW was quite ok when i went there once. There was a friendly lady.....and no kwai lan boss like that of passions.....
Oh, JW's website is pretty 'cool'. I submitted a feedback asking them to rephrase their comments saying that it sounds unprofessional and giving them my 2 cents. Guess what? It doesn't go automatically into their feedback. They get to choose what feedback they show on their website! What a joke...you only hear the good stuff.....just like what the commercial for some radio station...It's all a joke!

But put urself in their shoes also,IF there are competitors in the market that want to spoil other people's reputation...they just have to make use of the feedback system to screw u up
