Pin Hole Or No Pin Hole

I am new here. pardon me if the following questions may sound silly to some of you:

1) How do we know if a 16234 got pin hole or no pin holes? Are we talking about the hole for the bracelet pin that joint the bracelet to the casing?

2) How come those without pin holes command higher selling price?

Yes, the "bracelet hole". Whether a piece should have pin-holes depends on its series. But then again for some models the pin-holes disappeared earlier, some later. Specific to 16xxx, let's wait for the others to chime in.

Non-pin-holes are usually newer. Personally, I prefer pin-holed models, which can also be featured with solid-endlinks.

'Pin holes' in horological term refers to the tiny holes on the casing of the watch that connects the bracelet/strap. Not necessarily, those w/o pin holes command higher selling prices. The selling price of a watch depends largely on the brand and model of the watch. Why some w/o pin holes can fetch slightly higher prices because they are considered more modern in design and tend to be newer. Most older watches come with pin holes. Modern ones do not.

They are called Lug holes and not pin holes,now the non lug holes cases started on some of the Rolex line up around 2002, end of Y series early 2003. Now all modern day oyster Rolex have the non lug hole case.Today its only the non date Sub that still has straight though lug hole case
