SD was discounted prior to news of discontinuation, now, it is being sold at premium. Furthermore there are idiots who are buying at expensive price, thus they set a "benchmark" for future pieces to be sold at a certain price

i think it will have to take a lot more then 10yrs for it to have PN status........ give it more like 30yrs

hehe.. yup.. maybe 20-30 years.. however, looking at the way Rolex is adjusting their prices every year.. over the past 2 years.. list prices have gone up by about S$2K in some countries..

at that rate, it seems that mid class buyers will soon be priced out of all their watches, even in preowned

yup that is my advise to all too ... Looking back, once upon a time, rolex was a watch for those who actually understood quality and needed a reliable timepiece. Now it is a brand synomious with exhorbant prices, and excellent resale value.

yup.. fully agree.. mid-price buyers will soon be squeezed out... so, we do need to grab one now if we can.. and hope 30 years later, we'll be passing on another 'Paul Newman' to our grandsons/daughters..

After visiting every AD, the best price I could find (as of one week ago) was at Watch Palace or People's Park: $8750 - $1 off list.
