both are very different watches. both are in their own rights.

          - daytona is a chronograph; 233 is a PR/GMT watch
          - daytona no date; 233 got date
          - daytona flat glass; 233 dome

if im in your position. i would NOT trade a daytona over 233.

i find that daytona is more easily recognizable. why?

only rolex model with chronograph. u see the pushers, it is a daytona. so @ first glance, it is daytona. however can you say likewise for 233? i dont think so. why?

233 is with a pam case, u need to have CLOSER look to say ah 233. coz there are other models with pam case.

most pawn shops will know a daytona from other models. but not all will know a 233 from the rest of the models.

            I'll save up years to buy a Daytona. I'll only buy a 233 if I strike 4D/toto.

            Obvious?

If me, I will buy the daytona anytime. But if my job requires me to travel and I can only have one watch, I'd buy the 233, with date, GMT, power reserve, it's a good "work" watch.

If one day i wanna sell my 233, i will definitely get another Pam to replace it .

No , dun find it easier to get knock , but if i were you , i too won't sell the daytona to get a 233 , daytona is a beauty on its own , although i can't stand it without date function.

I always try not to trade my watches for another watches, as I feel each watch is unique and has it's own meaning. Esp. Daytona is a special watch, highly sought after and with a very good 4130 movements, it's a very good watch. The newer batches come with blue parachrom hairspring. But of course, it's value seems come down, almost close to list. Perhaps if you wanna trade, trade early before the price for new watches drops further.
