Think it depends how you look at it. If you happen to travel for work or naturally having to visit that country, then buying it "along the way" (not going all out to find), is cheap. Heard its Jepun and Dubai so far. Not too sure about others.

hear dubai not that competitive now due to price incrase, furthermore, they not willing to discount like last time..... anyone bro(sis) wanna voice about this?

i believe rolex fixes the price for the markets, that is why the difference is marginal, usually derived from the exchange rates. Like for those holding AUD, it is worth it to buy USD now, and buy a rolex over in US (assuming all else being equal) such as model/price etc.

I thought Rolex controlled the whole market

...even though it's cheap / expensive - I believed it won't be much.

Yes, ROLEX controls the international market. But I beg to differ that the difference in price is insignificant. Will a difference of say, $500, be significant to you for a price of say, $5,000? How about a $1k difference for a $10,000 watch? Yes, both will be significant to me. Otherwise, why are PLU(people like us) buying watches all over the place, like in this forum where the Sales Thread is so vibrant?

Just sharing my thoughts. Thanks for reading.

                            Oh I see...

For me...straight and simple. I defintely say NO to oversea just to save the trouble or whatever reason.

Lets take my GMT II 16710 for example when I brought it in 2007.

I went rolex hunting all the way from Orchard, Raffles-city to Chinatown visited almost all the AD (I don't have fix AD) to check for the price that quoted. End of the day go to the ones that quoted the lowest.

                            Cheerio,

Tat is by far, one of the best ways to buy at better price.
