But THG also shift stock from shop to shop lah, I don't see any problem with that...
if you say the people are cunning and eat you up without second thought at LP, I think every transaction needs two sides to complete, buyer and seller. Even local ADs are also trying to "eat" you, for example, the GV is selling double of the list price... it is up to the buyer loh... the seller also never use a gun and force them to buy... if you say buy on impulse, who don't buy on impulse? if you wait, don't need to buy loh... or you can check the whole singapore and then buy loh... it is up to the buyer also...

this is what happen, as a tourist, many see and buy on impulse, as LP is in the heart of orchard rd, their prices are "imo" slightly better then the large departmental stalls. Also since one person may own as many as 4-5shops, the total volume enable them to buy in bulk, also they shift stock from shop to shop.
I heard one guy conversing in hokkien in front of angmoh tourist to get model _____ from 2nd floor to present location.

very cunning people up there. if not careful, will get eaten up without second thought. When I was there my friend tried to buy, but I act dumb/blur, after listening, I figured that he was trying to pull a fast one on her, so I told her to walk away

OK maybe I should rephraise myself. The moving of stock (I feel) in those places are trying to trick the customer, into thinking that the shops are independently owned, where infact the shop are owned by a few and prices are fixed amongst themselves.
This I feel is not good for consumers.
But I do agree that it takes two hands to clap, and buyers here also have to be on the lookout.
As for buying on impulse, well, some people are more suspect able then others. I find myself being able to control quite well, but some people its all hell break loose.
But the problem is with tourist, they are only here for short time, range from few hrs, to one 35days (visa limit iirc), as a result tourist dont exactly have plentiful of time to go shopping and this is what the unscrupulous sellers are aiming at.

wow..... thats mean, but my style, provocative , but this one better, you go in and ask and ask and ask, check price, "ring" your AD for best price, then hor, they will most likely get mad at you, so you "drop" your bunch of notes, and say, sorry with your attitude, give me good price i also buey song ...... that will teach them real good
