My "M" series explorer2 passed the wiggle test. Has high chance of a 3186 movement. Read this thread from another forum:http://watchtalkforums.info/forums/s...ead.php?t=8020

congrats! mine didn't...
-----------------------------
correction...i followed the wiggle test from here http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=560174 and had the wrong perception that the 24 hr hand AND the minute hand should not move.. in fact the test prescribe that only the 24hr hand should not move.. if this is so, my exp II also pass the wiggle test!!!
does this means that i have a 3186 in my hand???...Last edited by elyjacob; 20-05-08, 09:00 PM.In The Bag

on expII not so much of a big issue in terms of value, since the m series GMTII have more rare.
EXPII probably standard by now I would say.Currently wearing:

Like what some Bros had already mentioned here, having an upgraded movement in the form of 3186 may only be better in technical aspects for M series 16570 owners but in terms of a premium over its resale value, I doubt there is any. This because unless Rolex announced that the 16570 will be discontinued in the very near future and thus making it a limited run of 16570 with 3186 movements, I'm sure that there will be many of the future 16570 down the line with the new 3186 Parachrom Bleu movement as it becomes its standard movement. Therefore, unlike the discontinued M series 16710 with the 3186 movements, the 16570 as it stands now with the 3186 movements would not qualify as rare that makes them any more collectable.
In addition, hypothetically, assuming the 16570's are not discontinued years later. Then when older series 16570s are sent in for services years down the road and with the 3185 movements being phased out, Rolex may be fitting the older series 16570's with the new 3186 movement as standard replacements. juz my 2 centsLast edited by Taurus75; 22-05-08, 01:47 PM.HISTORY IS WRITTEN BY THOSE WHO
