Rolex watch to US must have certificate?

I was told that all Rolex watches that go into US must have certificate to prove its authenticity?

what if the watch is 'vintage' (or even consider new) but do not have paper?

If you bring to sell, YES.

If you wear it on ur wrist into USA. i dun think so.. cos i go usa also nobody come check my watch real or fake.

EDITED: It is best to check too..
Because like in SIngapore, the orchard rd.. got those people check on FAKE LV...no receipt then get fine..Dunno how true.

you can only hand carry one in per person.

it's their law. if border inspection picks up multiple rolex pieces, it can be confiscated.

no papers, etc, needed.

some people fly under the radar with 2 (or more) rolex watches, but as american watch collectors don't push it, neither should you.

i have sent a rolex watch to US before via fedex. no problems.

HOWEVER that was a long time ago, before i realized about the rolex cpoyright issue...

to this day, many people still send rolex watches into USA.

the buyer - is he/she okay with the risk?

ask him/her what happens if: the watch is confiscated and not returned to you?

if the deal goes south... your reputation will be tarnished and there will be much anguish from both sides.

Sidetrack. Dint know Singapore will catch n fine people with fake LVs? I tht only Europe have such regulations. Cos I stillsee many fake LVs ard leh lol.

This is also a HEARSAY i heard during fiancee's relatives monhly bbq.
Never failed to get funny news from them.

Heard is> Dunno whose's who's whose's friend was smoking outside ION wid a fake neverfull. Outside is square square but inside cloth not red colour.The female was in her 20s. Those ppl that catch are in Office Wear. Heard the fine is 3/4 of the bag's price.
*Of cos i dunno how true lah (To the extend to catch the user).
But i know selling is wrong, cos few years ago, when my beside stall is selling fake goods, got ppl in office wear come catch & confiscate the bags. The china worker/boss is begging wid all sorts of excuse.

Some watch may be 2nd hand, 3rd from shops, may not have cert already.
So some prefer to bring to Spore Rolex Cte 手术室 and deal after they 开刀 on it.
Unless is direct from the 1st owner and you know the guy very well, if not, some also bring watch go to 做手术 too.

Cos many years ago, i also take watch from KL to sell at pasa malam.. got some from outside very hard to tell..need to 开刀 to see thought its movement are automatic..some even smoother then rolex.

no problems without paper/certification (especially in small quantities). but it will be subject to tax for the declared amount + admin fee by the courier company.

I did ask a seller before to trade.. but he told me its not possible to send in rolex from abroad. Only once and it happened last year.

I cannot guarantee the accuracy of this source but thats what i encountered last year
