I just registered few days ago, and spent the last couple of days reading the posts and admiring your collections...

I'm think of getting my first Rolex really soon (price increase soon right?) and need some valuable advise from you guys...

- What is the max discount i can get if pay in cash? (and where)
- Currently, i'm looking at Datejust 116234, black computer face with roman.
- Is this model available in the pre-own market? If so, how much difference is it compared to new piece?

Will Rolex be cheaper in Hong Kong or Thailand? Since our S$ is quite strong now... Cos Will be traveling there in June.

Any HK or Thai members can help check price?

price has already increased.

maximum discount varies. some get more, some get less. depending on your relationship with the AD.

is it available in pre-own market? think you have to scout around the pre-own shops. you need to do abit of your own homework first.

As mentioned earlier, you may want to scout around pre owned shop. Unless you are not comfy with preowned (different matter altogether!). Usually preowned pieces of that particular model, about 65-80% of new price (correct me if I'm wrong). If you are looking for older bracelet models, you may be able to get for S$3-4K.

Said that HK is cheaper, I dont know, but heard. You may want to further confirm with those who have travelled there.

As I always say, YMMV. So please do some scouting around and "tam tia" (listen/snoop around).

Welcome to SGROC.

Like wat the bros here mentioned, you need to snoop & scout ard for best disc. Some current models have no disc ie SubDate & SD.

As for yr DJ, you may want to check out & pm me yr price.
I see if my contacts can offer a better deal.

gmtmasterII black bezel, no pin holes, prefer the independent 24hr hand. box and papers preferred.

I've checked the datejust, 116234 Roman... retail is S$8881/-

Will walk around Chinatown today, and check out Tai hong and the Peng Kwee shops there...

Hope can find something good...

One pre-owned shop in Chinatown quoted me S$8300/- (still neg) for Datejust 116234 Blue computer face with diamonds and new bracelet... Sales girl say still can reduce further... did not really neg with her yet... afraid that i will buy on impulse... Is it a good deal?

Also shop around some authorised dealers...

My checklist...
- Model Datejust is confirmed
- Black face is confirmed
- Design of face to be decided
- Bracelet to be decided

Anything else i need to consider?

Need advice

Me just bought a halfgold com face w roman letters from the shop on the second floor. Not sure about the one on the ground floor but from my comparison, PK is very cannot make it. The shop I bought from quite ok. Can open up watch on the spot and check.
