having said that, im not sure if those who wear these "extreme" watches actually go down and utilise their watches.

Evolution
I've mentioned this before and I shall do that again. Over time, buying and wearing a watch is no longer seen just for practical reason, ie see time. It has evolved into a jewellery piece. Just like some had also mentioned here, there are now so many ways to find out time/date and one good example is from our handphones. So why need to spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on a watch?!
Therefore, it is about owning a prestigious piece of fine jewellery. Thus, branding comes into the picture naturally. Ask yourself: If you have $5,000 to spend on one watch, would you buy a SEIKO or a ROLEX(both of equal engine/material/function/design)?
Cheers !

i kind of agree what oceanklassik said " it is about owning a prestigious piece of fine jewellery "
As for triton ... no man can dive to the depth of 200m without help of instrument .. instument does not mean air supply , be it scuba or surface supply.
as for the SD with a depth of 1200m , it is oreadi more than what a man can ask for, so why did they come the the 3000m watch .. .
as for the one mentioning paying so much $$$ for a dateless watch not worth it ..
Daytona oso dateless leh .
by the way i own all the 3 watch mentioned .. no offence

may i refer to this free diving record where herbert nitsch dive to a depth of 214m with weighted sled. but the point im trying to raise is that it is not that we can ever go to that depth in the water. it is probably too cold. it is about technology.
then why does JLC come out with the master compressor diving to 1000m? why did sinn come out with the u2 to go to depth of 2000m?Last edited by triton; 23-04-08, 09:34 PM.if you have issues with your account, click here for self help and read forum rules here. 90% of your answers can be found in Forum FAQ
