I thought this paragraph from Nick Hacko's regular mailer from clockmaker.com.au might interest some of you.
"The other bad news is coming from Switzerland. Even with annual production of over 1,000,000 units, Rolex is struggling to keep up with world demand for high grade watches. Rolex dealers in United States have been instructed to offer no discount on sports models. Even repeat buyers and established customers, are not getting usual 5% "thank you for your business" discount.
According to insiders, new Rolex factory is to be completed in 2009 but I don't think that new watches coming out of new factory will have old price tags."
