  • Hello from a newbie and some questions

Hi everyone. I'm Arjun fom India and I am planning to come to Singapore in a few days. I love watches and am a member of a few watch forums and am hoping to buy one of my dream watches - the Sub 14060m during my visit. I have been reading a lot of the posts on this forum and keep scanning the sales forum often. I am planning on getting a pre owned Sub and was wondering if you guys could please help me out a little by answering a few question:
    1) What should be a decent price for a pre owned (preferably a post 2000 model) 14060m in good condition?
    2) Some sites have the nett price mentioned. Does this include the VAT and any other charges?
    3) Are prices in pre owned watch store usually negotiable or are they firm?

Thanks in advance and its nice to be a member of this wonderful community

I'm nt too sure of some of your queries but will try to help. Firstly, welcome to the community and hope you are enjoying yourself in the forum. A brand new Submariner 14060m here, from a local AD, shld costs around S$5k odd (near S$6k region), after discount. The retail price was S$6,921. As for a pre-own set with your description, it may costs in the range late $S4k to S$5k, subjected to the various conditions of the watch.

Prices in most pre-own watch shops are usually negotiable, even for some ADs. And the amt of discount is highly subjected to how you bargain and the mode of payment. As for the nett price vs VAT issue, you'll hv to wait for answers from others here, or ask the watch dealers.

I wonder if you are coming due to Apec. Whatever, welcome to Singapore and happy shopping.. !

Hey feilong108, are you a member of WUS too? I wans't sure I could just PM the mods just after joining and start asking questions. I thought it might be more polite to ask on the forum.

@Oceanklassik - Thanks for the welcome and info and no, I'm not here for Apec
I have been trying to get my hands on a pre owned sub in my city for sometime now and haven't been having much luck. Its my grail and its all I can think about these days. I can order from online but then the customs duties and the shipping will cost me close to $1000 USD, so I thought I should make a short trip to Singapore and pick it up. This way I can see the watch in person before buying it and visit your lovely country at the same time . I'll have a look at a few AD's and maybe if I am lucky, get a good deal
