I agree with Pegasi. There's no turning back once the engraving is done. My personal sense is that the human mind is a very fickle thing. If you wake up one day with cognitive dissonance, your're done for.
Put t this way, will you buy someone else's watch which comes with engraving?
Few years back, almost bought a LNIB Tag from one of the seller here. He mentioned got it from company lucky draw. We arrange for meetup but before the meetup, he told me there's company name engraved on the caseback and i cancel the deal immediately. Anyway the price doesn't seem attractive with the engrave on.
No. I won't. I always enjoy the things as original as it is. Anyway, the watch is already serialized, so it's unqiue. Moreover, some engravings are done very lousy, it may make matters worse.
My 2 cents worth comment is that once you've decided to engrave the watch, better to just keep it or pass down to next generation. It won't be worth it or meaningful to sell it since your name's there?

My vote is to engrave esp if there is someone you would like to pass it onto. If you do decide to sell it, just change the rear cover (assuming thats where you engraved it).
